Barbecue
Steak Recipe

The marinade in this barbecue steak recipe is also great when used on ribs, lamb or pork. You can use your own favorite cut of grilling beef in this recipe, but I prefer to use sirloin or rib eye as they have lots of flavor and tenderness.

Gourmet food........the EASY way!

Barbecued Steak

INGREDIENTS
Serves 4

4 Grilling steaks, about 8oz/200g each

MARINADE
1 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, peeled
½ cup/100ml olive oil
¼ cup/50ml red wine vinegar
¼ cup/50ml red wine
¼ cup/50ml soy sauce
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons fresh thyme leaves
salt & freshly milled black pepper

METHOD

  • Place all of the marinade ingredients into a food blender and process until smooth. Season with salt and freshly milled black pepper if required.

  • Place the steaks in a suitable container and pour the marinade over. Turn the steaks in the marinade. Cover and refrigerated for about 3 hours.

  • When you are ready to cook, drain the steaks from the marinade and place onto the hottest part of the barbecue. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes on each side depending on preference.

This barbecued steak recipe is simplicity in itself. But like any dish, the results will always be determined by the quality of the ingredients. So always choose the very best well-hung steaks, with a dark color and a good marbling of fat.
